Giant Robot Arm Exhibit

A 9.5 feet long, five range of motion, 3 finger robot arm. Approximate size of exhibit case 72" high x 9’ wide x 9’ deep.

A highly educational and visually stunning exhibit designed to illustrate remote handling applications for robotics. Remote handling robots are used by industry, aerospace and commercial establishments to extend human capabilities in hazardous situations.

The exhibit features an arm mounted color camera and a miniature video monitor placed at the controls. The placement of the monitor combined with the location of the controls and viewing windows afford the visitor a chance to operate the arm by direct sight or by video link, which simulates tellepresence operation. The control panel also features a message repeater. The exhibit is viewable from all sides making it an ideal mid-floor device. The arm has pressure sensitive and end of travel limits, and can adapt to any arrangement of objects stacked in its path. It is made of light weight 6061 Aluminum. The arm is useable for any age range of visitor.

Our arms have been used as exhibit robotics devices since 1993 and are a durable cost effective and easy to maintain solution to your exhibit robotics applications. Our arms have stood the test in exhibit robotics and rehabilitation Robotic applications. We build each arm with a combination of aluminum, nylon, steel, commercial and industrial components and with durable exhibit cases. You will never see a pressed wood product come from our workshop. Our control panels are built to take the rigors of public use with thick aluminum tops and quality switches and controls.

If you have been troubled by Robotic exhibits that are not obtainable due to high cost, or are hard to maintain and require highly skilled personnel and expensive repairs, we can provide a high quality alternative.  This complete exhibit includes an electronic-electromechanical robot arm, fully enclosed exhibit case for the arm, support electronics, visual support materials, maintenance information and schedule, activities and control panel.

Remote Tellepresence Version: The same as the Standard version except that the control panel is not mounted to the exhibit case, but is a separate exhibit as described by the following; Controls built into a remotely located tellepresence exhibit case with a 20” color monitor and case measuring approximately 42” deep x 30” wide x 72” high. This version is a better simulation of tellepresence operation and also expands the exhibit to two locations. At the first location the arm is viewed directly and at the second the arm is viewed and used via tellepresence. Tellepresence controls and video are linked via a coaxial cable, parallel cable and twin conductor cable which connects to the main exhibit case. The cable supplied is 75 feet long.

7-year warranty against defects in our workmanship; Free Life-time phone/internet technical support; Life-time parts supply sourcing for our exhibits at wholesale prices. See more details below.

Our exhibits have a long service life expectancy, with many units still functioning smoothly at 10 years plus. They are so easy to maintain and repair, that it usually takes regular museum staff only 15 to 20 minutes.
